Teaching and Learning week: connection and community

At Holland Bloorview we believe the future of care is all about exchanging knowledge. To empower our future leaders and advance disability healthcare, we dedicated a week to teaching and learning with others.

Our Teaching and Learning Institute is comprised of staff and educators specializing in a variety of disciplines committed to providing rich learning environments for students across the hospital.

We want to ensure the next generation of health care professionals are trained and dedicated to provide excellent care for children, youth and their families with disability and rehabilitation needs.”

Thanks to our donors, each year a dedicated team within the Holland Bloorview community plan and host an annual Teaching and Learning week for staff, students and family leaders. April 2022 marked the first year that celebrations were held for a full week, rather than a single-day event – a change that was met with great success and enthusiasm and allowed for a wider range of educational opportunities. Over 90 staff, students and family leaders attended a variety of keynotes and workshops on topics such as unpacking power and privilege in health care and the pandemic impact on nursing students and new graduates. To cap off the week, the Recognition Awards ceremony celebrated staff contributions to the academic agenda.
